One of the most exciting things for me, as a lover of art, is the way Manuel Antonio is slowly growing into somewhat of an art mecca. Of course it's no wonder, given both the dazzling and subtle beauty of our area.

Many of our local artists are more of the hippie/bohemian variety, which is fine by me. I like it when artists are as personally interesting as their work.

Libertarianism, eccentricity and flare seems to be part of the artistic character. Throw in a little anguish and personal suffering and voila, a creative genius emerges.

Here we live in somewhat of a paradise, absent of anxiety and suffering, so our artists have to make do with their bohemian eccentricities and the beauty around them.
